It is of course an honor in itself to be nominated - and 30 times at that, but inexplicably when it comes down to the final vote, Paul has never won.

Nor has any other pedal steel player in the history of the award.

being nominated 30 times and never winning, that's clearly a defining statement on the "CMA awards organization", not the nominee. What exactly is the point of a CMA award if someone is nominated 30 times , which is a career, and never wins :?: Apparently its a popularity contest, or something like that.

As Bill Anderson would say -- The Steel Guitar is "TOO COUNTRY" for a Country Music Award ! :lol:
