Really nice "up-front" steel, with some real bark and personality to it! Cool You hardly ever hear that kind of tone on a recording today; everything now is smoothed, rounded, and reserved...almost like a Chet Atkins sound.

Agreed Donny. The steel guitar on today's recordings is infantile and sterile background padding with muddy tones. Bobby Black is a great player. One of my inspirations. I got to see him a couple of times with the Commander. Just goes to show you how much we lost in artistic steel playing.
