left "footed" pedal steel

Post by Jon Voth »

There is a left handed pick post here, and I got to thinking. Are there guitars made where the pedals are played with the right foot-then I saw some pictures on the web.

Are there lefties here that play pedals with the right foot? And stranger still, are there players here who play normal hand orientation but play pedals with right foot and volume with left foot?

Just curious, a late night drinking on the porch question.

There was a guy in Southern California named Stan Wes. He was a multi instrumentalist who suffered a stroke and focused mostly on slide bottleneck guitar after the stroke. He owned a music store and dabbled a bit with pedal steel. His single neck Dekley had the floor pedal on the right since his motor skills on the left side of his body were affected by the stroke. I just read on the forum he passed away about a year ago.

As a left-handed player, I had Jackson Steel make a Maverick HD with the three pedals on the right side; It is my first steel, and I really enjoy it.
