Was hoping the new book had one (or more), and I know that Fish had put out a request for pix before the book went to the printers. Anyone have any?

I have a Steel Guitarist magazine edition of the 1981 class I was in. It has a photo of Buddy playing bass with Paul Franklin entertaining the class.

I don't have Fish's book yet, so I don't know if it's in there.

I'd be happy to post it here if there are no objections from Tom B. or other entity that may have rights to it.

I was watching an old Hee Haw episode a few years ago. Roger Miller was one of the guests. The first of two songs that he sang Buddy was playing bass. It took me a little by surprise. I thought dang, the bass player looks a lot Buddy without his derby and most of all, without his steel. Then I rembered that he played bass for Roger about that time. Later in the show he sang another song with Buddy on steel. The eisode could probably be found on youtube.

btw, how was Buddy as a bass player? I am sure he was competent as he did play with some national acts [Roger Miller for one], but I wonder if he was as good as the nashville studio players of era, could sight read etc???Just kind of odd that a a guy that could arguably be called the best pedal steel guitarist in history would ever have the need to play bass... just goes to show that at times even the best of the best in the music business may have to make some adjustments.... bob

Correct!... obviously a man that knows his oddball vintage guitars... there was another oddball guitar built in Maryland around the same time,, name the company and double your money..
