Lap steel guitar C6 tuning tabs for "The Older I Get"

Has anyone done tablature for "The Older I Get" by Allan Jackson in C6 for lap steel? I am just a beginner with the lap steel. I am finding the picking difficult but still having fun.

I like challenges like this, Eddie !
It took a few concentrated hours, and there you are.

This is a great 3-chord song for beginners, and I'm sure more people will be pleased with this one.
I made a rather simple tab to "play along with the band", without any slants!
It shows again what a nice tuning C6 is!

Thanks Bert, I just captured your Tabs for "Stranger on the Shore" and "The Older I get". My neighbor and I (Both in our 70"s) get together and play our lap steels. Since I only have one neck (and it's tuned to C6) That's what music we search for. Again, thanks for sharing and for your heavy lifting. Whenever I try to figure songs out on my own, I quickly get lost
Alas, if I only got started when I was younger
If I was to get a second neck (thinking possibly an 8-string) what would you recommend it be tuned at?

Hi Gary, my timeline is about the same as you both
And I'm still discovering things in C6 as my basic tuning.

If you think of expanding, I have bought an 8-string SX, mostly to give me a 5th on top of the C6.
The upper strings then are C-E-G (a major triad)
Since that means a high G on top, most people lower the whole thing with 3 semitones, and that is called A6 tuning.
It's a fine extension of the same "playing world".
For me, at "our age", it feels good to really dive into one tuning; at least you really learn to play something!

Thanks Bert, I'll keep it in mind. I don't know when I'd get another lap steel (I'd have to go through my banker, er . . . wife ). Maybe I'll go on the premise of: Better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.
