I recently got an S-8 in this series from George, and it's a GREAT instrument, with beautiful tone and sustain.

Recommended.

Questions

Post by George Piburn »

Hello from George

I've sold the Black Metallic S10 - the S10 Blue Metallic is remaining - and will edit my original post today hopefully.

Jack; I currently have new C6 Strings on it, .052-.046-.-038-.032-.026w-.020p-.017-.011-.015

I have some other strings gauges in stock.

I like listening to E13th but know little about the tuning.

If you can make the above gauges work -

If you want to send me the set you want to use , Like Jim did for his S8 mentioned. I am happy to re-string it for you before it leaves here.

Thanks for your reply George. I really had my eye on the black one and was not totally committed to pulling the trigger yet. Great looking guitars and great price! Maybe the next time around.

Last of my GeorgeBoard S 10

Post by George Piburn »

Just so that everyone knows, I do not plan on making any more new steel guitars.
There is not going to be another Time Around.
If some one wants one of my guitars I suggest get while the gettin's good.

Of course never say never,

Due to my age - health, amazing rising costs of all materials - fees to use high tech machinery, fuel you name them,
it is looking grim on the future of building efforts.

Even the Cottage manufacturers are dropping off too -
reason ; NO Sales - flooding of cheepos from off shore - the need to actually get paid an American level wage for my labor.

For several years I've offered GeorgeBoards™ on a franchise - lease - full company buyout - purchase and resell under your own name type offers and not one single inquiry. It's not just me and a few others whom are all passed over, it's the overall lack of desire to make lap steel guitars at a manufacture level of thinking.

Sad Really

Hey George, if you can put the Eharp tuning on it, I'll take your last one.

George, I'm going to pass. I'm not really playing 10 string anymore. Thanks anyway. This was kind of an impulse purchase because I liked the idea of getting your last one, but I really don't need it. Sell it to someone who does and will cherish it. Thanks My friend.
