Portland Steel Jam May 22 Song List is up

Post by Larry Behm »

After what seems like years we are finally going to have another Portland steel jam.
Sunday May 22 1-5pm at Jubitz Truck Stop in Portland Oregon. All steelers are welcome no matter your experience level. Bring your favorite rig and join about 25 other Steelers and have the time of your life.

Spread the word and mark it down. Everyone’s favorite bassist DEB SMITH will be holding us all together.

I tried to inject different rhythms, speeds etc to accommodate the many different experience levels of players attending. Some play in country bands, some in
country rock etc.

This is a video of a past jam for those that have not attended and want a feel for the event.

Unless a gig comes up, I’ll be there.

And Larry - thank you so much for all you’ve done, and do, for the surprisingly mighty Pacific Northwest steel guitar world, truly.

Tunes to practice pre-Portland jam session

Post by John McClung »

Here's a link to 59 tunes that I used to prep for the December 2016 steel guitar jam session in Portland, OR. Even compressed as a ZIP file, it's 59 songs, 281 MB in size. Inside is also a PDF that's a songlist.

Unfortunately, the only way I could find to download the tunes from my iTunes playlist, songs wound up in folders named for the albums they came from. Deal with that the best you can.

See y'all there. Dress nice, dust off your steels, I'm primarily there for photography purposes and friendly chit chat!

Hopefully next time, Larry. Still trying to carve out time to finish the rerodding of my SD-12 Rittenberry extended E9 and revamp my playing with all the new changes planned. I plan to bring some goodies to give away, and a couple of Accommodator racks to sell.

I plan to bring down a few psg music racks, the Accommodator by Don Curtis. I bought half a dozen for classes, have no further need for them, I'll make you a good deal, best specialized rack for steel ever made, full width of your guitar, clips onto your guitar's front legs. A couple of them even include ART Power MIx III stereo mixers, to blend a music source and your steel:
