Good question. Probably only Bruce would know.

Can't anyone who has a Zum tell or are you looking for measurements?

Ernest, do you think the thought behind behind non-gauged roller nuts is that the string gauges are graduated so there's no need for gauged nuts?

Roller nut

Post by Barry Coker »

I Purchased some parts from Bruce a few Months ago one of the parts was a 12 string key head with rollers he asked me If I would be using it for a ext. E9 or U 12 and he included guaged rollers for my application.

I dont know if they all are guaged but I know the ones he sold me were.

That's It. The roller nuts are generally gauged to accommodate three or four strings, and then another set.
The .068-.072 string roller nuts sometimes need some tweaking so they sit a little lower
If the 10th string on the C6th is too high, it can cause the the 9th string to rattle.
Not a deal further up the neck where pushing down doesn't take as much pressure.
