I replaced the strings on my Carter-Starter this past week, and have run into a problem tuning floor pedal "C". Have pressed floor pedal "C", and tightened the respective tuning nut about as tight as I can get it to raise E to F# but the F# is still a little flat. The tuning nut is so tight that it is recessed about 1/4", and pressed against the tuning nut directly under string 5. No problem tuning the open strings or the A and B pedals.
Again, all help appreciated.
Regards,
Donny |

Back off all the way on the nylon tuner, until it is not pulling the string at all. Tune your open E string. Then try tuning your pedal with the nylon tuner. It sounds like you may have over-tuned the nylon tuner, assuming that you replaced the strings with the same gauges that was on it. |

Apparently I over-tuned the nylon tuning nut because after backing off all the way until it was not pulling the string at all I was then able to tune floor pedal C with the nylon tuning nut, and raise the E to F#.
Appreciate the help.
