On my Sierra Crown U12 I'm trying to raise the F# to G/G# on my 1st string LKV. When I turn the hexnut on the pull rod it raises the tone of the open string, but does not increase the interval for the raise using the lever. Is something gummed up or what?

Try backing off the tuning nut at the back orf the steel. Then back the pulling rod out some at the bell crank.Sounds as if you do not have enough slack in the pulling rod.If b0b sees this i am sure he can help you.

You probably need more travel in the lever. There should be a way to adjust how far the lever moves before hitting a stop. Once you get enough travel in the lever to pull the string from F# to G#, be sure there is a little bit of slack in the pulling train. In other words, adjust the lever stop so that the lever moves just a tad more than is necessary to pull the note up a full step. Then tune the pull at the end plate.

Yes, definitely the nylon tuner's too tight. Unscrew the nylon tuner until the open string stops lowering. (As you unscrew it, the open string will flatten.) Then tune the string back up with your regular tuner. The nylon tuner should adjust the change fine now. I had the same queston a few years ago because I had the exact same problem. This bit of knowledge has come in very handy from time to time. A simple fix to a simple problem, but very frustrating if you don't you what's causing it.
