I'll have to go back to school

I ordered 7 left and 7 right tuning machines... I miss a left one now...

Necks are glued :-)

Now that the C clamps are removed, I can work a little more on FP on the fretboards.

Heres' how I deal with PUs height:

Foam under the PU to push it outside, and screws to bring it inside.

I miss now just a tuning machine (but I can wait for it with 6 strings only) and the Bridges and nuts that are somewhere in the USPS mail network...

The missing parts should arrive here in the next days.

fwiw, I think of your G6 tuning as Em7, it really makes playing typical II-V-I and other common sequences very easy. I like your work on the lap steel very much.

So awesome!

I can barely nail two 2x4's together, so I greatly admire you guys who can build instruments.

Beautifully built steel Xavier! I love the grain match and finish you have done. I bet she crys like an angel.

I'm curious about the tuners and whom you bought them from. I haven't heard elsewhere about being able to buy odd quantities of them.

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks guys.

The tuners are GOTOs Schaller-style Knob, the only ones that Stewmac solds separately. Had to go with it.

Samples soon!
Used to play with 6 and 8 strings, 7 disturbs my mind a bit.

Here's a quickie with my son playing his "BARON" dreadnought.

It's just for the lap sound (through a Spark amp), better played to come.

Seven is the “magic number”!

If you don’t have a tuning in mind already, take your favourite 6-string tunings, and then add that one extra note that you’ve been missing all along. :D
Current Tunings:
6 String | D – D A D F# A D
7 String | D/f – f D A D F# A D

Hi there,

She finally got her case... I had to build one, pine and laminate and foam and Tolex...

She's safe now!
