Has anyone got into the 3D printing of replacement parts for old lap steels?
I would have thought, for instance, that the bridge and tuner covers for old Harlins, that were made from brittle plastic and have mostly disappeared, would be an easy job if you had a 3D scanner and printer.
Other items, such as the Fender badge, could also be produced. |

I believe George Mr. Boards has experimented with 3D printed parts, and may have some available. Perhaps he'll chime in. |

I always wanted to make custom knobs for my guitar projects with a 3d resin printer, but between learning CAD, and spending the limited brownie points I made with my wife, oh, and the actual cost, I thought that hobby world is one I should stay out of! |

Hello from Mr.Boards
Alan; Your Heart is in the right place the practical side of the equation is the problem.
The specific items you listed are a non starter- everyone really wants aftermarket replicas for restoration or worse to create fake vintage for sale.
The Name badge KingPin Guitars already figured out those for his Excellent made fiender like consoles.
The plastic covers; I worked with a plastics place from 2006-2016 that was capable to make very close replacements in heat molded vacu-formed parts.
In that 10 years not one inquiry or serious proposal to make any for old Harlen's , Gibson's Pandas and off Branded made laps.
