Don't Bogart Me.
I had a six string Tonemaster, with which I aped a few little chunks of things here & there. Heard Red Rhodes on this tune & knew pedals were in my immediate future.
What was the first Steel Guitar Song you learned?

Steel Guitar Rag by Bill Boyd and his Cowboy Ramblers.
The day (in April 1953) I got my Gibson lap steel(with the numbers on the frets and amp), I tuned to guitar to the record (had no idea what chords or key was) and learned it before I went to bed that night.
A few days later I got a copy of the "Country Song Roundup" that had a ad for Jerry Byrd's Steel guitar course for $20.
My life then never was the same!!
Thanx,
Jim
