Live At The Opry Steeler

Post by John Palumbo »

Some really awesome steel playing along with a lot of older time country stars, Bill Andersen, Jeannie Seely etc. tonight on Opry Live. Tommy White was there but this steeler of whom I don't know (but would like to) was so great, he played for Bill & Jeannie. How the steel resonates thru that bldg is something.

I've known Eddie since was a teenager playing and he was good then. One of the best.

Is that The Opry "community" Webb amp rack that all players use? Looks like four separate 6-14 E power amps in a cabinet sitting in a Sound Enhancer, going through a Webb a 15" speaker enclosure.

Tommy always sounds great, but Eddie's guitar was pretty special.

Here is a glimpse of that Webb amp behind Eddie, along with Tommy White's Mullen

Eddie and Sho Bud

Post by Mark Shuda »

Used to hearing Eddie with a Fessenden, I'm sure the old Bud brought out some unique voicings! Eddie is one of my fav's and here's a little treat for you if you like Eddie and what I still call "Traditional Country and Western Music".

Andy, the good news is that works, I can see and hear it fine!

The bad news is I just clicked on it about 12:25AM, and it runs 3 hours. When my wife starts asking WHY I'm not packing it in for the night, I'll blame you!

Thank you for the link, I love it already!

Wow, it's so great to hear a steeler of Eddie's quality in the wild! Great ideas, beautiful sustain and tone and overall taste for a live gig. This is the way most of us aspire to play.

Thanks, Mark, John and Andy for posting and bringing this to our attention.

Bill Anderson would have nothing less…look at his previous players! Eddie is right there, taking care of business. Making it happen with a 40+ year old guitar!

Eddie Lang has become a dear friend over the past decade. Eddie is most intuitive and plays just so tasty and the right things no matter who he plays for.
One of my favorite players now and a person of high integrity . So glad Eddie is being recognized as such!😊

Is there a way to get in contact with Eddie? I'm curious if he offers lessons?
