I'm interested in inquiring about some of the Steve Palousek Instructional Videos that are offered on the Emmons Guitar Company website. I have made several attempts to contact the company by phone, but have so far been unsuccessful.

Does anyone know if these videos are VHS only or are they available on DVD? Also, is there a tab/book to go along with the instruction on the video? The info on the website doesn't offer these details.

I have some of his videos and there is no tab. He talks you thru everything. I usally tab everything myself and I remember it better by doing that instead of it being already tabbed out. Check out Scotty's he may have some.

I can vouch for anything Steve does, I even needed him to show me an intro in the middle of a session once when I was the steel player and he was the recording engineer! Tommy White heard it later and praised me for it, I never told him that Steve had to guide through it! Well, he knows now!
Steve P. is the guy, no question.

Mark, I have the first beginners one. I got quite a lot out of it, particularly the stuff on scales and using them in a song. Steve Palousek isn't the greatest presenter ever but I've learned a huge amount just watching his volume pedal technique and trying to work out some of the more advanced licks he does when he cuts loose from the scales. He is a great player.

The video is quite professionally done with split screens and different angles. As a beginner's tape there is a fair bit of overlap with the Bruce Bouton video (chord grips, inversions etc), plus for my money too long is spent on tuning up and adjusting your picks with pliers! However it's two hours long so you get quite a bit of info. There are two backing tracks at the end to practice over.

I'm surprised these haven't been transferred to DVD. I would buy the next one in the series if that was the case.
No tab, but I completely agree with Tony, tabbing it yourself makes it easier to memorize.

I don't think they are on DVD. However, I converted mine to DVD. One thing is for sure, SP is an absolute monster of a player and the instructional videos are excellent.

Thanks for all of the feedback.

I've heard nothing but good things about these tapes. That's why I'm so interested in them.

I'm going to try Scotty in MO. But, in the event that he doesn't have them, does anyone know of any other dealer that carries the Palousek tape(s)(beside Emmons Guitar Company)? I'd be happy just to get my hands on at least the Beginner tape.

FINALLY! At one last effort to contact Emmons I was finally able to talk to someone and place an order.

Thanks for the feedback as well as the helpful emails.
