Second guitar I ever owned was a brand new blonde Pro-III: just beautiful.

What are those 9 circles on the underside of the skirt? Looks they're filled with wood putty. Why?

Totally standard plugs in the screw holes. I've never seen a Sho-Bud that did not do it this way.

Happy Birthday. Guitar was born in February 1975. So, I see 14 hole pullers. I like but what's with that? I wonder how many raises and how many lowers in the changer? RP

Both those Sho~Buds have been totally upgraded with non-original parts; pullers; changer fingers....but look to be a very good job. I've seen much worse upgrades...this person knew what they are doing and making. But not original really at all..other than Body; endplates(but cut out bigger for changer fingers; and keyheads.
Both look like they are fully loaded with changes and it's much more versatility then original. And I see pins on fingers so somehow they kept the best sounding 6061 Aluminum finger tops Shobud ever had; and rivot new raise and lower arms...yeeehaaaa...these look real tasty.

Thanks Rick for educating me on these two guitars, Albert Johnson and Leon Roberts were master's at this, they rebuilt my LDG several years ago and I'm steel finding new licks on it , they were fans of George L and Emmon pic ups. There machine shop was unbelievable, they made all the parts from scratch. Both are gone now!!! You might see a John steel guitar running around ![/quote][/list]

Thanks Ray; yes I do remember Albert and Leon from back in the day...both with amazing brains for sure.
I bet both those ShoBud's play beyond amazing.
