cut 1 inch off and Super Glue it on
I like that all of it fits in my Bar and Pick Pouch

I don't have a digital camera (for some reason I never have any "spare" money?) but here goes:
a small amber prescription medicine bottle will fit inside a vitamin bottle. If you attach the vitamin bottle to your guitar leg (somehow), you can "cat-proof" your fingerpicks by putting them in the little yellow bottle that slips into the vitamin bottle. (Cats love those tinkly little fingerpicks....) If you use different fingerpicks sometimes, you can have each set in it's own medicine bottle with a thumbpick and a lid on it.

I have cut the middle finger out of a nice pair of mens gloves & used it to keep the bar in, but I do have a little clip on pouch that clips on the leg with a George L leg clip, I use that to hold the bar & picks & tuning wrench. I like some of the ideas in the picture above though.

| My daughter crocheted a bag I hang from the tuning-head end of the guitar - a pocket large enought o hold tuner, a few tools, picks....and 3 pockets for different types of bars. I'll post a picture when I get a chance - it's a pretty cool thing she came up with, and the yarn keeps the bars both clean and protected - sort of wipes them off when you put them in the bag! |

What is the part on the leg,where did you get it.I made a few "things" and used a pvc T fitting that I knotched to snap on the leg.

A while ago, there was a fellow selling wooden bar holders on e-bay. I picked up a couple and they are real handy plus they look nice also. I think CrowBear sent me one, also, if I'm not mistaken.
The only thing I didn't like about them was the part to clamp around the leg of the guitar. He just took a piece of garden hose, cut it down the middle and screwed it to the holder. I substituted his patent with a George L clamp. The holder I like the best is his model that can hold two bars, a tuning wrench and picks. |

For lap steel sized bars, I use an M&M Minis tube that's been washed out.

you're not mistaken Bro' Erv 
this fellow out in Calif makes these nice wood, bar, wrench & pick holders
he uses black water hose to fit 'round the leg which is funky
but it fits
he was sellin'em on ebay & yes, i got a few
i'm sure there are other Fo'bros that copped some of these
i saw them go on ebay

At one time, I thought about buying something along these lines:
Bandoleer
If you got the right size, you could keep five or seven bars in it, with a flap to fasten over each one, and buckle it between the legs on the left side of your steel. Then I decided that if I ever got a gig that needed seven different bars I'd ask them to loan me a table too. |

I got the George L's leg clamp
from Scotty's in St. Louis.
On this one I put two on
and added velcro to hold a business card holder
for picks. Drilled two holes one for a tuning wrench
another for the allen wrench for split tuning.

well, ok, here's my personal solution...
I stiched some scrap nagahyde around a plastic film cannister, and included a flap long enough to hang over two tuning keys...
When I'm playing, I can plop my bar into this convenient holder, at string level... and when I pack up, I put my picks in it and pop on the top. If the film cannister ever wears out, I just slip in a new one... works great.
