This is an early 60's 82L15V in good working condition. These amps are sometimes referred to as "hybrids", as they have a tube power section and a partial solid-state preamp section.
It was recently gone thru by Standel-guru Mike Brebes and is in good health. It has a pair of new 6GW6 power tubes, and a new JJ 12UA7 preamp tube. There is a three-prong power cord installed. All of the electrolytic capacitors have recently been replaced. The amp has two channels, a "normal" and a "tremolo", and has a contour control on both channels. There is no onboard reverb.
The amp sounds wonderful, and is quiet. It is rated only at 25 watts or so, but it can get pretty loud while still staying clean. More gain can be achieved by using a 12AX7 in place of the 12AU7, albeit with a bit less clean headroom.
The price is $1400.00 plus shipping. Email me through the forum if interested.

I have a similar head-only Standel that Mike Brebes reworked, and it's wonderful. The tremolo is very subtle and nice on mine. Mike had to reverse engineer the sealed up Standel module on mine, and did a good job of it.
The tone of the amp is absolutely great. Mike knows his Standels for sure.
Anyway, just throwing in... Good luck with the sale! Somebody will get a really nice sounding amp I'm sure.

The amp is actually about 35 watts before clipping, which makes it in the same power range as a Fender Pro Reverb or Blues/Hotrod Deluxe.

Looks like the one Wes Montgomery used. Sure sounded great with him steering.

Re: Standel 82L15V Amp, w/ 15
The feedback resistor in the power amp section is so high that it might as well not be there. Because of that, there is no control of the gain and it can go into clipping as low as 3 on the Volume control when using a 12AX7(G100), depending on the guitar plugged in. That is why I opted to install a 12AU7(G20). It seemed like a good compromise for pedal steel. 12AT7(G40), 12AY7(G60), and 5751(G70) tubes can be used if you want more gain.Tommy Detamore wrote:More gain can be achieved by using a 12AX7 in place of the 12AU7, albeit with a bit less clean headroom.
