Pedal steel in Australia

Post by Daniel Miles »

Hi everyone,

I'm a guitar player in Melbourne, Australia. I'm hoping to buy a pedal steel appropriate for a beginner (I understand that 3 pedal, 4 knee is a 'standard' configuration, but please correct me if I'm wrong).

As some previous users have mentioned, it is basically impossible to buy a pedal steel in Australia (without paying very steep shipping prices). There was an Emmons S10 available in Perth, WA, but it appears to have sold.

I'm wondering if any Australian-based users either (1) have one to sell, or (2) know someone who does. I would really appreciate any help!

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Daniel,

The Guitar Factory shop in Gladesville Sydney often has GFI steels for sale - that would make a good steel for a starter.
Not many decent used steels come up over here as you've noticed.

Hi Benjamin, thanks for the message. I saw that the other day but unfortunately it’s outside my price range. Hopefully it’s a sign of more to come! I appreciate you letting me know anyway :)
