Pedal 5 raises A>B and F>G. Are these pulls used together, separately, both? What does the F raise achieve?

Drew you're talkin about pedal 4. I'm just guessing here but the A up to B part is the traditional Maj 7 pull and the F up to G gives you C6 tuning all the way down the low notes and yes it looks like they would work well together for a hughmongous Cmaj7 chord.
