Fender Steel Guitar Database

Post by Grady Caplin »

I've just begun creating a database for all vintage Fender Steels, and am looking for help filling out missing information, as well as correcting errors. Please feel free to mention any other details or facts about these guitars I am missing.

Thank you,

Grady

A few corrections, as follows:

The Model 800 and 2000 never came with a 24.5" scale.

The Model 400 came standard with 4 pedals, and optionally up to 10 pedals

The Model 1000 came standard with 8 pedals, and optionally up to 10 pedals

The Model 800 came standard with 6 pedals, and optionally up to 11 pedals

The Model 2000 came standard with 8 pedals, and optionally up to 11 pedals

The Model 400 was officially introduced in 1958

The Model 1000 was officially introduced in 1957, but at least one prototype (and maybe more) was being played as far back as 1955, per a conversation I had with Jody Carver many years ago.
