No fancy pedals, no "trick" moves, just a ton of feeling, artistry, and technique. That's what I'll always remember him for. :)

So true, Donny! The first time through sounds like the Winnie Book version almost note for note, just done really, really well. Another great example of why we all listen to him. Thanks for posting, Chris.

PS- After checking page 44 in my copy of the Winnie Winston book, he prefaced the tab with this comment-
“This version is similar to the one played by Buddy Emmons on his album ‘Buddy Emmons’ (known as ‘The Black Album’)...”

Pure and honest pedal steel. Buddy had that special touch that made his notes sing. His volume pedal use was excellent in combination with the bar. A master of the highest caliber.

The audio wasn't there anymore. Chris, if you could send me a copy, I'd like that.

HERE is the tab for "Greensleeves" from Buddy's Guitar Player column from way back then.
My best,
Ernie

Mr. Templeton, I would like a copy, too, if you could repost it or please send me a copy. Contact me through the Forum and I will send you my e-mail address.
