Roy Rosetta

Post by Albert Talley »

It’s with a heavy heart we post this from Barbara Rosetta:

It breaks my heart to let you know that Roy passed away today from a combination of congestive heart failure, lung fibrosis, complication of kidneys and liver. As soon as I know details I will post as soon as possible. We love you all and Roy always loved playing behind the Steel players and for all of our friends. Blessings to you all. We love you.

Oh wow...He was such an important part of the Steel Guitar community. Untold numbers of shows he's played! It seems like he was on stage from the beginning to end of all of them! It will be hard to imagine a show without him. Condolences to his family -

I'm so very heartbroken to hear this. There are a million things I'd love to say about Roy Rosetta--every one of them good. Roy was a superstar! He's played more steel shows than anyone, and he knew so much. I loved playing bass beside Roy, because even on those crazy jazz and swing tunes, it was near impossible to get lost if you'd just follow Roy. Praying God's comfort for Barbara and for all of us who are feeling this devastating loss.

Oh no! This is such sad news. Roy was a hero of mine…and always will be. A true gentleman and a wonderful player… just a superb musician. I was so looking forward to seeing him in Dallas.
I’m learning about this just as I’m about to start my New Years Eve gig.
Roy, this night is for you.
Sincere heartfelt condolences to Barbara, and to family and friends who loved him.
Godspeed, Roy.
