| The doors to Pedal Steel Tone Heaven opened the other day when Phil Bradbury's Little Walter Paul Franklin Signature 89 amp arrived. Last night I spent a couple of hours just listening to the stunningly clear, precise, and warm tones this miraculous amp can produce up and down the neck. Pure rapture! I met Phil at Paul Franklin's Steel Guitar Camp last August and was impressed not only with his technical knowledge (and willingness to share it), but also with his personal integrity as a businessperson and builder. Phil and his wife Martha were patient in helping me through the process of ordering everything: amp, speaker, speaker cab, color selection, bias probe, and backup tubes. The Little Walter is worth every penny for any steel player searching for "the tone". |
