Coming to Texas in 2022 with Ronstadt Revue

Post by Jim Cohen »

Hey Gang,

I'm excited to say that I'll be coming to Texas in May of 2022 with the Ronstadt Revue. We'll be playing May 21 at The Barnhill Center in Brenham and May 22 at Main Street Crossing in Tomball. I hope some Forumites from the Houston-to-Austin area can come on out to catch us!

The show in Brenham will be together with John Beland, formerly of Swampwater, Linda Ronstadt's first solo band after leaving the Stone Poneys. He subsequently went on to work with many notables (Dolly Parton, Rick Nelson, Bellamy Brothers, to name a few) and was in a latter-incarnation of the Burrito Brothers. That's gonna be a unique and memorable show. Here's a video we made together with John a few months ago, if ya'd like to see it, of a tune he was working on with Linda back in the early '70s but they never got around to recording it: https://youtu.be/58QUVlUlyWw

We're still looking to book another show within about a 3 hour radius of those places for Friday, May 20th and I wonder whether any of you Texans might have any suggestions for out your way, or happen to know any theater managers/bookers to recommend us to...? We'd love to make it a 3-night Texas mini-tour and would really appreciate any leads or help y'all can provide. You can either PM me or email me through the Forum.

Thanks all, and have a great Thanksgiving!

You booking the full band ? There are tons of places in Austin. I can’t speak to the money because that depends on all sorts of things. It can be pretty good though….or not….

The One World theater in Austin would be a great place for a show like that. I have no connection to the venue but thought I’d suggest it for further investigation.

Thank you very much, Bob & Shaan! I appreciate your suggestions. And, yes, Bob, we're booking the full 7-piece band. Needs to be a seated room rather than a standing-only club environment.

One World would be great. Ask for Kevin.

I do, but it's been quite a few years, and I don't recall his last name. The house manager there, nice fellow.
I did some tuning and some massage there; not sure if he'll recall me.
