I was looking at Bud Isaacs original pedal setup and found this tuning embedded in the pedal combinations.

Lots of chords in there. Have you tried using this on a lap (non-pedal) steel?

Interesting...

in E it would be

E G# B D F# A C# E -which is very close to an E13 but that A on string 3 makes all the difference.

Might make a cool D tuning as well for 8 string.

D F# A C E G B D

Issac's copedant was obviously a game changer. Here we are nearly 70 years later still pulling ideas from it! Wink

I fooled around with this a long time ago. It’s basically a major scale ascending in thirds. In this case D major. You CAN get every diatonic chord in D but where it fails for me is the lack of inversions.
