I spent some years in Walla Walla... Grade School and High School... Its where I started playing, and still visit on occasion.
Per chance are there any other steel players from there or living there now? or in the nearby area?

I waited a couple of days to post a reply wanting to see if anyone from the Walla Walla Wa. area would respond. I didn't think so. Not sure Dale, but I don't believe there are any, or at least anyone around that area that is on the forum here. You'd think that someone in Walla Walla would have a steel. I generally try to follow and stay in touch with all the steel players in eastern Washington. I do know that Gene Capps played alot around there, but he's from Lewiston/Clarkson area and is retired-even from playing steel!

How far are you from Walla Walla Duane?, and BTW I went to school with a Rob Becker... Yeah, at best it was a long shot... some things never change... it's why I felt I was an island unto myself when I started playing there... It was me and one other guy a little older than me, but we didn't run together... he was there from Oregon point to College in College Place, but don't know if he stayed or not. Think his name was Randy Pearce but can't say for positive.Duane Becker wrote:I waited a couple of days to post a reply wanting to see if anyone from the Walla Walla Wa. area would respond. Hey Dale, I'm about 30 miles or so north of Spokane. But I get down to the Walla Walla area once a year or so playing music with bands out of Spokane. I was just down near Waitsburg, just a few miles from Walla Walla in June playing a private party for a farmers birthday. No steel players in site during that time. I don't know Rob Becker. There were many Beckers that settled around that area and north as I recall.

Hi Dale,
All of my family lived there from about the 60s to the early 70s.
Our daughter was born there at the Hospital.
My Dad had a recording studio in our house in the basement.
We lived on Oak Street.
Walla Walla was good times.
We bought our first horse in Walla Walla. We have 6 left.
Thanks, Danny

Interesting Danny... I know that neighborhood, had a friend that lived out that way. The old General Hospital was still in that area at that time... we moved there in 66, and I moved away for good in 80, with a couple of jaunts before 80. Folks still live there, as well as many classmates.Danny Sneed wrote:Hi Dale,
