well i know i won't be winning this contest, 'cause i just got my bar yesterday! i doubt anyone's is newer than that...

just wanted to say a few things, basically all of it echoing what's been said:

1. thanks for the tips i picked up here in this post. i am glad i went with the 15/16ths and i wouldn't have known about it or made the decision if it weren't for you guys.

2. talk about fast! bill emailed me back within hours with detailed instructions, and my order placed friday evening was shipped and delivered by monday.

3. shirley helped me on the phone. sweet as punch!

4. i'm usually a skeptic about things like cables, bars, picks being a big factor... but this bar has helped my tone, especially the strength and volume and clarity of the harmonics. it is a noticeable improvement.

so thanks all around to bill, shirley, and all you with the advice here on this thread. i'm a happy camper.

Hi Bill,
I have 9 BJS Bars; and, the proof that I have them. But, I don't guess I can enter the contest, since I'm your official Alabama BJS Representative. Looking forward to showing your products at the ASGA Show at the Hank Williams Museum, Montgomery, AL February, 26th, 2006 at 10am.
p.s.

Leon Champion, thanks for understanding that you cannot claim your position in this because of you help in selling the bars. I'll do something different for you. I may let you buy me dinner LOL.
But we will list the winners tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for your particitation in this little event, and the kind words.
All of you guys are the best of the best.

Bill, I goofed. I gave you back the first "BJS" bar that I got from you. I think it was one of the first you made. But, I can tell all the other guys out there, if your not playing a BJS Bar, your missing out. Sorry I couldn't win even though I have 3 ( I think). See ya in a little while.

I have 2 BJS bars one with the birthstone circa '96 and a new '05, the older one has been dropped on a concrete floor twice and it still doesn't have a scratch on it...Bill replaced the birthstone (which fell out and got lost) free of charge, he makes the best bars available!

Well the time has come, and here's my findings, help me out guys if I mess up. But number one (1) The oldest bar was given to Bobby Rice about 1973 that was when I first starting making these bars, it was not heat-treated, hard chromed but I realized after experimenting with the tone the I was looking for the bar had to be heat treated, centerless ground for prefection and industrial hard chromed, then I found the tone that I was looking for. With that being said I took his old bar a and gave him a new perfected bar whaich he still plays, he knew nothing of this posting he stumbled upon it just in the nick of time.
So Bobby Rice wins the oldest prize.
Number two (2) Dave Ristrim has seven bars he bought his first one at scotty's back in 1985.
I sure thought that George Macdonald had it with his six (6) bars, and Bo Borland came close to winning if Bobby Rice hadn't seen this post.
So the winners as I see it is Bobby Rice and Dave Ristrim.
Hey guys send me your address and give me a call at 731-364-3519, email your address at bjsbars@frontiernet.net
Also I'm waiting to here from Mr Bobby Lee
Hey Leon Champion give me a call I'll make it up to you my friend, you deserve it you've really been a friend to me and my family. Like I said some of the best people that's on this earth is right here on this forum.
Keep God first in your life and all the rest falls into place.

Thanks Bill. I really didn't expect to win anything but boy am I glad I did. What a stroke of luck. I was just browsing the forum yesterday morning when I saw the post about the contest and it rang a bell about the old bar that I had. It had"BJS" stamped into the butt of the bar. I just want to let everyone know that Bill and Shirley are some of the greatest people in the world. Glad to have you as my best buddy. God Bless.

Wow. Excellent! I love these bars and can't see a better one coming along to make me switch. The reason I have 7 is so I can have one in each pac-a-seat, a couple at home for practice and then a few spares. At one point, I think Bill moved and I had a hard time tracking him down, then a rumor that he stopped making the bars, so I bought 3 more just in case! what a marketing concept Image
Thanks Bill, for all the great product and making playing the Pedal Steel easier and more fun.
