A very unusual instrument by Luca Stricagnoli

Post by b0b »

This instrument combines bar movement and picking in one hand. It leaves the other hand free to play something else, in this case an acoustic guitar.

Very interesting!

Luca Stricagnoli is amazing!

Wow. I wonder if that is an attachment. It certainly provided quite a few options. Did you do any research on it?

That is super cool and difficult. It actually sounds good too, which is the best part.
The slide playing reminds me of George Harrison.

It amazes me how people create difficult musical puzzles for themselves and then solve them. He sounds great though I miss the freedom of vibrato. Interesting and cool but not a puzzle solution fro me.

I’m not wired that way, but this is really impressive! Love the tone he’s getting.

Very cool!

Definitely not on my wish list though. I have all the musical challenges I need already, without adding that.

Here’s a screen grab from the vid.

Trombone meets lap steel :)

Here are a few details on the 'Reversed Slide Neck's' development... Pickup used, how it attaches to the guitar, etc.

What a great sound and technique. A very nice unique instrument.
Especially in these covidian times, I've seen a lot of one man band videos and I've kind of grown tired of them.
Do you think this guy plays that rig with other people?

To paraphrase the bar customers in “Blues Brothers”, I like both kinds of music, solo acts AND ensembles!
