This year’s Denver Steel Guitar Show is dedicated to the eminent Rusty Young. Rusty has inspired people all over the world with his music and steel guitar. In honor of Rusty we have created;
“The Rusty Young Inspiration Awardâ€.
This prestigious award will be presented to a well deserving Denver steel guitarist during the show!
We have two very special guests who will be presenting the award. The great Richie Furay from the Buffalo Springfield and Poco and also Rusty’s wife Mary Young. Wow, how great is that! Mary Young is very happy that we are dedicating the show to Rusty and that we have a special award in his honor. Mary will have some of Rusty’s instruments for sale at the show.

Denver Show
Tony,
Just wanted to compliment you on the organization and content of this years show. Hopefully it will help entice a large audience. Look forward to attending, listening and seeing a
few of my steel guitar friends. Sure wish Del Mullen, Dick Meis and Lois were also on stage...such a large part of Colorado
steel guitar heritage!

Denver…..Rusty Young
I’m sure it was a great show. Sorry I couldn’t be there. Does anyone know which of Rusty’s instruments were sold there?

2021 Denver Steel Guitar Show
Thanks to all for producing this fine event, featuring some of the country's finest pedal steel guitar players. Several things made this a very special event. The music was well played, and from several forms and ideas it was a great showcase for steel guitar music. A very special award ceremony honoring Rusty Young, whom passed away last spring. Rusty wife Mary was in attendence and was one of the award recepients. Richie Furay was also in attendance and Sang "Kind Woman" with the band. A tearful moment.
Another thing is this was the first Denver Steel Guitar Show since covid cancelled everything. It really felt great to get out, listen to live music and entertainment. Looking forward to next year's show.
A couple of guys who work their tails off and I would like to recogize for being vital in making the show a go were Tony Ortega and Bob Case. Thanks guys and to everyone for their hard work and great playing!
