This makes me want to build a steel of my own when I get the chance.

Binding job done:

The 2 mm binding is really stiff.. can't use a slow setting glue.
Soaked some shellac in che channel and used superglue...

Now let's scrap and sand...

Note: this very resonant guitar is very susceptible to sympathetically vibrating strings. It does not have a neck selector switch or a mute. Playing without a towel-damper on an unplayed neck is problematic. I strongly advise inclusion of a switch (which does appear to be installed between the necks in your picture -- something I don't believe I've seen on an EH -150 DN. If non-original, I strongly approve!)
I, too, look forward to watching this project develop.

John, the burst is a 2-or 3 coulours burst?

Fantastic Job, Xavier!!
The burst is wonderful and the quilted maple looks even more exotic.

Thanks Chuck!

It looks even better after the bindings are scraped (it was hot between the necks...)

It really begins to look like a Gibson EH 150 DN :)

Working on woody bridges...

Image

I have no news from Ryan Rukavina, who was supposed to send me 5 weeks ago 2 aluminium milled bridges and nuts.

Hope he is safe ...

here's the back: French polish everywhere but top and headstocks.
