What pick up should I get?

Instruments, mechanical issues, copedents, techniques, etc.

What pick up should I get?

Post by Joe Davies »

I have a Zumsteel Encore with a single coil pickup and I tend to get some weird ghost notes on chords.

I think I'd like to put a humbucker in it.

Any suggestions or anybody interested in a swap?

Thanks

Doug makes a Humbucker for the Encore. Maybe reach out to him?

I think he (Doug) suggested a Lawrence 710 or XR16 to replace the 705 that mine came with. The 705's a great pickup but too tall for the cavity.

Those ghost notes might not be caused by the pickup. It is a very common problem. What amp are you using ?

I've tried it with 4 different amps and it does it on all of my amps. My main amp is a Fender Tone Master Twin reverb.

Try the second input. It is slightly attenuated.

Is the sound that real low moving note that happens when you play more than one note at at time ?
