Emmons Legrande III D10 /BOB please close

Post by Robert Herr »

Image For sale is Legrande III D10. When I bought the guitar it had just gone through a complete re-build by John Widgren in Connecticut. For those who know John he is a wizard when it comes to steel guitars.John felt it had very good cosmetic condition and its mechanical condition was exellent. The reuilt changer and underside were as clean and un-worn as a new instrument, while the guitar retained the desirable tone characteristics of a well played instrument. Precision milling procedure was done to allow for extra pickup clearance on the counter force neck. When I bought the guitar it had BL 710's, later I had John install a set of old Emmons single coils that were rewound by Tom Brantley in Southport,NC both pickups read 19.3 ( he does excellent work). Comes with a brand new Thomas case.

$3550 plus shipping from 17584. I prefer local pickup, I will ship if you pay the ride.

RKL = Raise 1,2, and Lower 6?
RKR + Lower 2, and 9?
Half stop on 2?

as you are sitting behind your steel the right knee lever moving left drops the 6th string from G# to F#, and raises the first string to G# and the second string to E. The RKR lowers the 2nd string to C# with a half stop that lowers to D, 9th string lowers to a C#

Bob H has asked me to explain:

Anyone familiar with the LG3 counter-force system knows that the mounting block for the counter-force pivot limits the height adjustabilty of the pickup away from the strings.. The block was removed during the rebuild I did, and was professionally CNC milled to reduce its thickness under the pickup area by around 1/8" thereby allowing for greater height adjustabilty to within non counter force spec, and only limited by the changer mount tangs (per original).. The modification does not affect any other aspect of the system, but is a great mod for anyone who wants a little more distance between pickup and string, or wishes to use a higher profile pickup.

Always glad to help buddy.

JW

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Vaxup, maskup, wash yer hands...please!
