I cannot even begin to state how much Milton Guilbeau meant to every steel guitar player in South Louisiana. For me personally, he was an invaluable resource of knowledge...both in explaining the logic of pedal steel guitar mechanisms as well as providing direction for budding players. He has performed surgery on several of my early guitars until I reached the point where I could do so myself, and never once charged a penny for his time and effort. His library of steel guitar records provided me the direction that has served me throughout my entire career.

He was a true gentleman who ALWAYS put the needs of others before his own. I will miss his stories, he had a million of them......

Rest in peace my dear friend...

I filled in for Lamar Posey with Tony Broussard a couple of years ago in Lafayette and had the chance to meet and talk with Mr. Milton. I enjoyed that visit and as others have said, he was very knowledgeable. He was a very nice person. RIP Mr. Milton.

Milton was a wonderful man. I met him in St. Louis years ago. He was so soft spoken and kind. My wife and some friends used to attend Mardi Gras in Lafayette, La. every year for many years and Milton would open his home to us. He told lots of wonderful stories. Tony Bruce has been posting lots of videos on facebook of the old Acadiana Hayride. You can see and hear Milton play on those videos. My heart goes out to all his friends and family for your loss, especially Richard Comeaux.
