One of my earlier inspirations. I had to learn Raindrops keep falling on my head af seeing the movie. Back then I was playing nylon string guitars and practiced flamingo styles. Pedal steel came much later. I followed his voice into the Hank Williams album and beyond. Incredible stylist with a gifted voice. RIP BJ Thomas.

Got to mix monitors for him at a private event in the Sierra foothills around 2003. He was such a nice and humble man. He’s home now.

My first date with my wife I took her to see BJ in June of 1972 . He was the headliner I believe at the last Birmingham AL. radio station WVOK put on for many years . Always loved his silky voice. He will be missed .
