Temporarily Solved Volume Pedal Dilemma - Just FYI

Newbie to PSG and don't want to initially go down the equivalent of my electric guitar GAS rabbit hole. (I'm a pro there.) Have a Fender FVP-1, good volume pedal but front-mounted jacks. I had some George L's 90 deg jacks/cables around and hooked them up to my Justice Jr/FVP-1. Now, I know it's not perfectly flush with the base, but it's really really close. The 90 deg jack allows the cable to go under the base with the only obstruction being the small jack itself. Temporarily saved $200+ on a VP. Note, the "temporarily" term. At my stage in my PSG career, the VP is not holding me back.

Rick, good move. I have used the Ernie Ball pedals in the same manner with no issues. I do prefer the Goodrich volume pedal overall because I'm used to it.

Thanks, Larry. I look to get a different pedal in the future but right now I'm in the hibernation learning stage.

Front mounted jacks wouldn't bother me in the least, since I always keep the pedal several inches back from the pedal board. The further forward you have the volume pedal, the more your knee moves when you work the pedal!

Thanks, Donny. BTW, how tall are you? Will that make a difference in VP positioning?

I'm only 5-10, but my go-to guitars were all custom designed/modified just for me. Your height makes a difference more if your guitar doesn't fit you properly, and less if it does. Most of the difference in taller people is in their leg length, which should correlate with their guitar and seat height. A comfortable position allows you to play for many hours at a time without pain or discomfort.
