I can’t believe it’s taken this long for somebody to mention BRISBANE BOP with Jimmie Rivers and the great Vance Terry on steel!

Another great one, I’m not sure what the title is or where you’d find it outside of this, but the (I believe) third Hank Snow box set from Bear Family Records (the box that covers the 60s-70s) has a KILLER live record on one disc featuring Kayton Roberts on steel and Chubby Wise on fiddle. Recorded in live Germany, 1969, for a bunch of drunk and loud servicemen.

I put together a Spotify playlist of all of the albums listed here (at least those available on there, not all of them are). Enjoy!

Counting Crows "August and Everything After: Live at Town Hall"
David Immergluck lays down some very ethereal playing here especially on "Round Here."
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous; praise is meet for the upright. Give praise to the Lord with the harp, chant unto Him with the ten-stringed psaltery. Sing unto Him a new song, chant well unto Him with jubilation. For the word of the Lord is true, and all His works are in faithfulness. The Lord loveth mercy and judgement; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

Thanks for this suggestion! I love the playing on this one and hadn't heard it before. Who is the steeler on this?

Ricky Davis on Dale Watson's Live From London! So much of Ricky's fine steel playing mixed way up front. Excellent!
