OSGA....Okla Steel Guitar Assn.....guests...R U ready for mo

All right...once again we'll touch on the past performances of OSGA Convention shows . Through the years we've been blessed with some of the most incredible voices in the business . We've had Sissy Privitt , Dottie Jack , an awesome singer named Chrissy Crisp , the beautiful and talented Miss Amber Digby , step daughter of Dickey Overbey , a terrific singer/songwriter with an exceptional voice and former first lady Miss Leona Williams

I've intentionally saved the last honor specially reserved for a most genuine voice.....I've known her for several years now and she is a real beautiful person , inside and out , country as cornbread , at ease on a stage with the who's who in the steel guitar world {check out youtube}....hands down my all time favorite {drum roll please } , I'm talking about Miss Laney Hicks . Wowzer . Incredible singer and easy on the eyes . Feel free to voice your opinion

Laney is a terrific singer and so pleasant to talk to. She has remarried that Hicks guy and I believe he dabbles with pedal steel. They are a wonderful couple and Russ takes a back seat to no one.

Steel Guitar Show Bands

Post by R Crow »

All of the bands that play steel shows are iron men. Two or three 10 to 12 hour days are tough. In the 26 years we have been doing the OSGA show, we have only had one band member fall off their stool. Larry, was that the year Russ & Laney were there? I think the excitement was too much for someone.

And I didn't even have anything to drink

I recall Mickey Adams offered me a hand up

I'm sure he wasn't the only one

I do remember holding the guitar up so it
didn't sustain any damage

Thanks Rick for exposing me

I wasn't in the room when it happened, but I've heard stories of you waving that guitar above the bandstand floor while flat on your back. I'm just glad that you didn't get hurt. I'm sure you had some sore spots and some black and blue.
