My apologies if someone already posted this, as it's from last month, but it was really great. Not exactly a history so much as a sampling of some modern players as well as a dive into the world Sacred Steel. I was really honored that my group, Sandcatchers, got a short feature at the beginning too. So great they did this!

Thanks for posting Myk, and congratulations on being part of this informative program.
Listening to Willie Eason and Sonny Treadway brought back fond memories. It was an honor and a thrill to record them and other sacred steelers back in the early 1990s. Wow, time flies! That was nearly 30 years ago.
So glad to hear our instrument is getting some attention.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I was truly surprised and honored to be included in the program with some of my heroes! There's definitely no shortage of amazing modern players they could have featured!
Bob, after reading your comment I did some googling. Wow, it's safe to say you wrote the book on Sacred Steel! What an amazing contribution to the steel guitar canon. I, of course am talking about: https://arhoolie.org/the-robert-stone-s ... l-archive/
Your book's on my summer reading list. Can't wait to dive into it.

Thanks Myk.
In 1992, I had the good fortune to be working as a folklorist in Florida, where there are a lot of House of God churches and dozens of steel players. At first hearing--Aubrey Ghent and Glenn Lee in the same day!--I knew this music was special and deserved a lot of attention. It has been a wonderful journey for me.
I'm headed to the House of God in Ft. Pierce, FL Sunday where Aubrey's protege, Elder Elton Noble, serves as pastor and musician, to present my book to the congregation. It will be so good to be back among old friends.
All the best,
Bob
