I've always been a staunch proponent of a D on the 9th. Never in the logo, though.:)
Roger Rettig - Emmons D10
(8+9: 'Day' pedals) Williams SD-12 (D13th: 8+6), Quilter TT-12, B-bender Teles and several old Martins.

It was spelled that way in an interview with Rusty Young that I once read...

Not Rusty's fault,I'm sure...I believe it was in an issue of"Hit Parader"...

He was talking about the Echoplex and the fact that it was used by"Emmonds"...

I don't know if that was meant ironically, but I think so.
Actually Hit Parader was a great Source of Information. I had a monthly subscription from 67 to 72 and there was some great information. They even advocated The Yellow Submarine Band with Gram Parsons.
I guess this interview was interesting, even with the spelling mistake.
Later it became a more Heavy Metal/Hard Rock magazine and then it faded, I think
Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube.

Maybe not the best example to make your case? :)

But I do remember Hit Parader around 66-68 having some good, serious music writing (Barry Hansen) etc. disguised as a teen fan magazine. They would actually interview musicians about the music (rare at the time).

No not really, Pete. But they gave the album the propper name instead of my creation.

I asked Buddy about the spelling error. He said, "Yeah, that's MY label..." We had a laugh.

(No, he didn't own it...)
My best,

"I remember the Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman show very well as I was a big fan. I didn't get to see the Eddy Bummons episode but was told about it. Later, I had the pleasure of meeting Mary K. Place when she worked a spot on the Opry and we had some laughs over it."

Great find Steve! I do not remember this conversation at all. I surely remember Mary Hartman Mary Hartman but I've never heard this story.
