These guys and young ladies do covers BETTER than the originals... watch a few of their videos.. Simply incredible.
Yet they are playing in parking lots passing a tip bucket :x ... There is NO justice.... bob

They’re good! Those bungee chord gummie string ukelele bass’s blow my mind . They sound close to stand up basses.
A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

I'm a huge fan of Foxes and Fossils, found them by serendipity on YouTube. Incredible harmonies and great videos!

Well that occupied about three hours of my time last night! I love what they are doing. It's neat to be able to follow their progression over ten years or so. Good for them!

Very nice (Eagles' version) cover, I enjoyed it. Still, to my ears, the best versions are the ones performed by the writer, the late Steve Young. Here are two of his recorded versions:

From his 1976 album, No Place to Fall with Mac Gayden on guitar, Buddy Emmons on steel and Tracy Nelson on harmony vocals:

and solo from his 1991 album, Solo:

Keep on pickin'!

I've been following Foxes & Fossils for some time now, you're right bob, they're just excellent. Thanks for your post Bob.

For those who like to venture out away from the Country Music scene like i do. In fact i listen to very little country music these days. Here is another fantastic cover band. I love horns, and strings, even the horns that honk behind me, to pull up in the McDonald's drive through.

I just love how the lead guitarist with this next cover band, has just the right touch of compression and overdrive on his Hiwatt amp. David Reeves is the brainchild behind the Hiwatt. He built his first Hiwatt right around 1962 or 1963. Love those Hiwatts pushed through a Marshall 4X12 cab with Greenbacks....Honey From The Bees...... The lead guitarist in the first video is also using the Dunlop BG95 Buddy Guy Signature Cry Baby Wah pedal. By the way, Orange amplifiers as in the other video, are great amps as well. Not just because i happen to own an Orange Rockerverb 50 MKIII head, but because they are truly wonderful amplifiers.
