Often when this question us asked some people are able to quote from session notes who played on what song . Is there a site that gives info like this ?

The site is Praguefrank's Country Music Discographies http://countrydiscography.blogspot.com/ but the site index is a little unwieldy. The easiest/quickest way to find something specific is to do a google search with the artist and song title and simply add the word "praguefrank". Some artists pages are really long but in most browsers you can search within the page by typing "CTRL+F"

I use allmusic.com to find info regarding album personnel/credits.

A lot of times, they don't have musician credits listed. Or, they may list 2 or more players of each instrument and you have to guess who is playing on the song you're checking into. The Praguefrank listing do list individual songs, but I have looked for some songs that weren't in there.

Iâ€™ve used Wikipedia sometimes, it appears session notes are the references but individual track listings are unusual. If more than one steel player is listed you can sometimes tell whoâ€™s who by style.
