I have been experimenting with benders on a lap steel and I have 2 benders that work nicely but harder to press than I want.. I am wondering if longer levers would make it easier to press down.

I've had the same feeling with a Certano bender I added to an old Supro steel. Going to lighter-than-recommended string gages on the 2nd and 3rd strings was very helpful. I had to raise the pickup screws to balance out the volume.

Mine are Certano benders and work well. Just wish it took less pressure to press them down.

Longer levers will require less pressure, but a little longer sweep.
