Well, This one has me stumped. I'll try to explain what is happening. There is a low-level distorted sound, like static, that comes on after the pick attack and as I bring up the volume pedal for sustain.
The pedal is a nearly new Stage One. The guitar is a SB Professional. I'm running from the guitar into a Black Box, to the VP and into a Roland Octa-Capture interface.
I tried reversing the BB and VP (I know it's wrong). Way less, but still there. I took the VP out and went into the BB and into the ROC. Less, but still there. I cleaned the jacks, no change. It does not happen going into an amp, I tried 2 to be sure.
Any thoughts? _________________ RICK ABBOTT

Try without Black Box? I didn’t see that in your notes.... _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

Direct into the Roland sounds muffled compared to having the BB. The distortion sound seems gone, but I have to wonder if it's just too padded sounding to hear those higher frequencies and it's still there. It's not a useable tone, regardless, haha. I need to use a direct box on it.
EDIT: I notice now, that it is most audible on the 4-5-6 strings in the 5-7 fret area of the neck, or any frequencies on other strings that are the same range of notes, like the 8th string on the 12th fret, which is the same as 5th string, 5th fret. _________________ RICK ABBOTT

Is this something that has recently become evident? If so, what has changed in the setup? Check the output voltages of the applicable power supplies ...
If this is not new, but has been evident for some time, once again, what has changed recently...
