As a former Franklin owner (#65) for 38 years, I love it.
Only comments, the Franklin decal on the front is later (mine according to Mr Franklin was the first one he used the "rounded" Franklin logo). Also the 705's are not stock. When this was built he was still making his own pickups. Mine came with 705's (late 82) but I don't know when the switch was. |

Jack; who put the split tuning screws on your guitar? I always felt they should have done that like Emmons does instead of having to use an extra rod

I had Mr. Franklin add the split screws about 2 years after I got the guitar (new). About 2 years would have made it 84 or so. I was unaware of the extra rod method at the time (my GFI uses the extra rod method). Probably the only Franklin with the split screws. |

I think you were too, looks like they worked really well. It frees up a rod for other purposes
I may do it to mine, the rods don’t seem as precise tuning wise. Thanks for the info!

What are those devices in the before pics that has a nylon tuner, spring and collar? Thought I had them figured out but bottom one is different.

Henry those are half-stop tuners ... my Franklin has a round wheel with little grooves in it to turn it with your fingers, but that one has a nylon tuner on it like we all have on the end plates :-}
