I searched and found a few posts on this one, but not sure they apply to my guitar, I've got a Sho-Bud pro I, I'm not sure what year, but here's a picture of the underside:

Is there a way to make the action on the knee levers easier?

Sorry if there's not adequate info here to answer the question, I don't really know all the terminology.

Thanks in advance.

Put the pull rods in a hole in the bellcrank closer to the body of the guitar.

The shorter the throw: the harder the pull.
The longer the throw: the easier the pull.

Chris,

What Erv said. There could be some other issues too. Your guitar is a late model Pro 1... sometime in the 80's. If you want some help, shoot me an email... I am over the bridge in Long Island City. I have quite a bit of experience with Sho~Buds.

Also- just a mechanical check- detach the pull rods from the bellcranks (noting where they were attached) and verify the the levers work easily without anything attached to them- then move the rods closer to the body if necessary, allowing for the increase in travel necessary to effect the pulls by adjusting the lever stops.
