I have several worn/stripped nylon tuners on my Marrs. I know George L sells unthreaded, and they're a pain. Anyone sell threaded? I did't see any at Bobbe's site.

Mike, I don't know if all nylon nuts are the same size, but if they are, give Bill Rudolph a call. He lives in Oak Grove, and that's not too far from you. His number is on his Williams Guitar website.

| The tuners are not threaded for a reason. You want the tuners to be "tight", not loose so they don't slip and detune. The threads are cut when the tuner is screwed on the shaft - you just have to get tuners for the specific size pull rods that you have (they are not all the same size). |

Well, let me ask this: I have a bunch of the George L's, and I tried last night to thread them by screwing them on but the holes are too small. Any tips on that? Maybe drill?

If they are much too small, you proibably have 1/8” rods. In that case I have (30) used Nylon-Tuners that are in good condition. They are 1¾”long, but; they can be trimmed off, if they stick out beyond the end-plate too far. I will sell as many as you need of these (30)-pcs. for $0.20 ea. + $1.00 Postage. {to anyone} I know this should probably be in the 4–sale section, but; you might not see it there!

Michael - Have you tried removing the nylon tuners, turning them around, and threading them back on? Sometimes that will help a worn tuner.

Lee: I tried that, and they're totally stripped out. I think I'll experiment more with the Geoge L's. I just thought there was a place to get new threaded tuners.

For probably $10 or less you could go to the hardware store and get a tap handle (like a drill chuck with a "T" handle) and a tap of the right size (4-40? 6-32?) and you'd be able to tap tuner nuts for the rest of your life...
(I've tried to get those Geo-L's nuts directly onto the rods and it's hard even when they ARE the right size!)

Thanks, Mark. That sounds like the way to go since I have about 2 dozen of those. I'll just take a rod with me and my friendly hardware guy should be able to tell me which one I need.
