We at Goodrich are happy to introduce our new pedal called the Baby Bloomer. The Bloomer is an FET-based preamp that goes at the end of your signal chain to add some thick harmonic character to your sound. We’ve designed this to be incredibly simple to use. There are three tone settings: clear/brighter, fat/darker, and a hybrid of the two. There is also a gain control so you can add some transparent boost to your signal. You don’t need hours of tweaking to find a good sound – just choose one of the tone settings, set your gain and go!
You can find more info on the pedal on our webpage:
https://goodrichsoundcompany.com/product/bloomer-preamp-pedal/
We already have a few of these pedals being used out in the field and we’re getting a tremendous response!
As many of you know, Goodrich built a reputation for helping steel players with high-grade volume pedals as well as the much-beloved Match Box. We’re looking to continue that tradition of presenting new products that raise the bar on tone – we think the Baby Bloomer is one of those.
The Baby Bloomer is a limited edition pedal – we have 20 in stock. Please visit our site and check these “Babies” out! |

Thanks Kevin. I am a field tester and you cannot have it back . I'm not sure what it's doing but it now lives in my signal chain and I had no idea that my guitar could sound that much better! |

Is there any sort of buffer in the Bloomer?
Do you foresee making more, when this batch sells out? _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel

Daniel, Its not a buffer, but actually 2 preamps that add a real sparkle to your tone. We will build out another 25 of these and be available in 6 weeks or so. Thanks |

Does it run on battery or is an external adapter needed? If so, is it included? _________________ ----------------------------------

Got it this morning, plugged it into my T8 Clinesmith and WOWZA! What a sound! Bloom is a great adjective, it’s not really reverb and not really delay, but a subtle touch of both and something else magical that happens to the tone of each string and all the chords. I’ve been looking for something to make the Bigsby style pickups sing and this does it in spades!
It runs on 9v battery or 9v power supplies.

Will the BB work well with a potless Hilton pedal? And it there a special
Code to enter when purchasing ? |

I just got mine and am exploring it’s use. It works great with the Hilton volume pedal or my Goodrich pot pedal. It is the VERY last thing in my chain, just before the amp input. It is not a delay but a preamp with subtle, very effective shadings of tone and depth. Even with my Quilter TT202 set with gain and limiter up for a rich sound the BABY BLOOMER added definite depth and clarity. I like it a lot and will be using it on some steel tracks I’m doing for a new recording project. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

How about some YouTube sound clips please. There’s none on your site. Would love to hear examples! _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

I don't think that any posted sound clips would be of value with the Baby Bloomer as the effects are subtle and not likely to be appreciated using the bandwidth of what is currently available for most of us. |

Pali and Kevin, a good solution would be record high quality sound samples, especially with and without the BB, then post it as a public file available for download from Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

As Kevin states on the Goodrich Website, the sound/tone is “Big & Fat”! It really enhances the tone I’m getting from a combination of: BL 705—Telonics Super Pro Vol Pedal—Strymon El Cap—Strymon Flint—Goodrich Baby Bloomer on to Fender Twin Tonemaster.
I’ve found, so far, that the Gain Control at 12 and the 3-way toggle switch set to the middle position (Hybrid—Combo of Left/Right Positions) works the best for my setup.

I wonder if it would enhance an acoustic/electric guitar. |

I tried it with a Dobro with Fishman Nashvile PU and Aura pedal and whatever the pedal does, didn’t mesh well with the the dobro electro-acoustic setup EQ and after futile knob twiddling to remedy, abandoned the test rather quickly. It may work better in a different acoustic setup.
However on my pedalboard I use a Neunaber Iconoclast speaker emulator pedal in the last position and found that the BB worked best just before the Iconoclast.

Hmmmm. "Big and fat", "huge difference", etc. And then the contradictory "hard to record the subtle changes". Something doesn't add up. Let us hear it in action! |

Been messing w the baby bloomer for a few days and I love it. It is a subtle effect but really makes a huge difference in the chain. |
