well , do you sit in FRONT of the Steel or BEHIND it ?

I’d like to know who the three people are who voted for the front being the side you sit at. I wouldn’t want them as the navigator in the passenger seat while I’m the driver on a road trip. ;-)

My take is ...you sit behind it,so the front is the other side.

So, which is the left side of the instrument and which is the right? I'm still none the wiser.

Well I sit behind the wheel of my truck and from there we determine the left and right sides. I guess the same might apply to the instrument.
Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun.

How can you sit in front of the back and play? If somebody doesn't like your playing and starts throwing rotten tomatoes at you, and the story makes Live at Five evening news, are you going to tell the reporter you took cover in the front or the back of your guitar?
