This video was made in the "back room" at my steel guitar mentor's home in the late 1990's, not too long before Mac passed away in 2003.
Mac was a genius not only playing the pedal steel, but a mechanical genius to make any steel work properly. In this video, Mac had been working on a friend's ShoBud and was was testing it out.
So Mac set up a video camera, turned on some Jeff Newman/Bob Browning tracks and here's what you have.
Mac was one of the founding members of WSB TV's Peachtree Cowboys. I can remember Buddy Emmons telling me one day "If I could play like Mac, I might just make it with the steel guitar thing".
I still miss this man so much. He is the SOLE REASON that I took up steel guitar.
Enjoy
